It seems the episode of Koffee With Karan 7 featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh seems to have taken the social media by storm. From memes to reels, snippets from the episode featuring the Rocky Rani couple have been going viral. From them is the latest ‘genius of the year’ moment of Alia where she describes host Karan's marriage during a game session that left Karan Johar himself as well as Ranveer Singh in splits. A mimicry artist, who goes by the name of Chandni, decided to feature Alia’s epic dialogue from the show and needless to say, fans are going gaga over it.

Kamal Haasan collaborates with Mani Ratnam after 35 years for 'Ponniyin Selvan'

 

Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' based on the novel of the same title is being made in two parts and its first part 'PS-1' is getting ready to release on September 30th. The teaser of the film was launched recently in a grand way in Chennai, while the teaser in multiple languages has been released by leading stars from the respective industry. Mani Ratnam has associated with Kamal Haasan for the only film 'Nayakan' so far, but the classic 1987 action drama is still fresh in minds. The 'Nayakan' duo has now reunited after a long time as Kamal Haasan will be seen portraying a special role in Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan'.

Kamal Haasan will be reportedly giving his voice for the introduction to the 'Ponniyin Selvan' story and the film's lead character during the film's title card, and he is going to set the build-up for the film. It's going to be a unique one from the expert actor for sure. Also, it is worth mentioning that Kamal Haasan also once had the plan of making a film based on the 'Ponniyin Selvan' novel, but he couldn't make the film due to some reasons.

Samantha, Vijay Deverakonda all set to shoot for second schedule of 'Kushi'

 Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, whose item number in 'Pushpa - The Rise' was a pan-India sensation, will be seen opposite 'Arjun Reddy' fame Vijay Deverakonda in 'Kushi', and the duo is all set to shoot for the second schedule of the movie. The second schedule will be shot in picturesque beach locations in the city of Vizag.

The duo will be shooting a love song, which is expected to be one of the major highlights of Shiva Nirvana's upcoming directorial.

Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar, and Saranya will be playing pivotal roles in 'Kushi'.
Hesham Abdul Wahab of 'Haridayam' fame has been brought on board to compose the soundtrack. Kushi's production team has already finished a considerable schedule in Kashmir.

'Kushi', starring Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda, will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on December 23.

Samantha, on the other hand, will appear in 'Yashoda', the Hindi film 'Citadel' alongside Varun Dhawan, and the Hollywood film 'Arrangements of Love'.

After Salman Khan and Salim Khan, film producer Sandeep Singh received a death threat. He has filed a complaint with the Mumbai police and the investigation is underway.

Sandeep Singh received a death threat on Facebook. The film producer known for backing PM Narendra Modi (2019) filed a case at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. The threat said of killing him on the lines of Punjabi Singer Sidhu

Sandeep Singh receives death threat on Facebook

In his complaint, Sandeep claimed to receive a death threat on the social networking site Facebook. Police registered a case against unknown person at Amboli police station in Mumbai. According to the police, Sandeep was threatened on his Facebook account. The threat allegedly said, "Don't worry, Moose Wala has been shot, you will be killed in the same way, wait and remember."

Malayalam movie review: Hey Jude starring Trisha,Nivin pauly

Hey Jude is Nivin Pauly's canvas. He has gained a huge amount of body weight to play the character and strikes home with the performance of an unconfident, introvert person with serious socialising problems.

At the end of Hey Jude, I had mixed feelings. While director-writer Shyamaprasad has created pleasant characters in the backdrop of a breezy Goa, he takes his own sweet time to establish the problems of Jude and other characters in the film.

The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder,” Alfred Hitchcock said it for a reason. Shyamaprasad shows no hurry in getting to the point and frequently the film loses its grip on the audience due to its pace. In the meantime.

Jude (Nivin Pauly) is a 28-year-old man with special abilities. It is only much, much later his parents Dominic (Siddique) and mother (Neena Kurup), find out that he is not normal like other people. Dominic is lost in making money, Neena seeks help for their son only through her prayers. Jude’s younger sister rather enjoys the freedom that she gets from Jude remaining the main problem of the family. The question is how come Jude’s special condition escaped the attention of his family members, teachers, friends and others?

For Dominic and Neena, it comes as a shocking news when a phycologist says Jude is not like ‘normal people.’ Duh. How can they forget that they weren’t treating Jude as a normal 28-year-old fully grown man in the first place? He was different and obsessed with certain tasks, things and ocean life. His personality clearly suggested he was a man with special needs. It is difficult for a second to buy Shyamaprasad’s narrative that it never occurred to Jude’s parents to seek out a doctor to help their son.

Jude’s life takes an unexpected turn when his great-something relative dies in an accident in Goa. Jude’s mother promises him to buy an aquarium of his choice to convince him to tag along with them. It is in Goa, Jude becomes friends with Sebastian (Vijay Menon) and his daughter Crystal (Trisha), who has been living in Dominic’s dead aunt’s compound.

Dominic is at war with Sebastian and Crystal, while he makes Jude befriend them for selfish reasons. Sebastian, a psychologist, identifies the genius in Jude and the problem that makes him different than the others. His daughter Crystal also suffers from bad mood-swings. We don’t get to see much of Crystal’s bipolar disorder, as Shyamaprasad stays focused on Jude. Let’s not forget, the film’s title is Hey Jude and not Hey Crystal.

The film feels like a grown-up version of Taare Zameen Par. While Nivin plays that kid with special needs, Trisha plays Aamir Khan’s compassionate teacher role. As expected there is a love angle to the relationship between Nivin and Trisha. Shyamaprasad comes up short on convincing us on how and when they fell in love. How did a mentor and mentee relationship become romantic? Was Crystal’s feeling for Jude real love or her sympathy for him drew her closer to him? Shyamaprasad wants us to believe that the abnormalities in them played the cupid. Like Pat and Tiffany from Silver Linings Playbook. But, it isn’t convincing.

The highlight of the film is the subtle comedy in the narrative that draws laughs from us at unexpected situations. And the natural performances by the cast is also endearing. Siddique nails as a money-minded and prudent person, who values his relatives based only on the assets they leave behind for him. Vijay Menon strikes a chord with his scenes with Siddique and Trisha maintains a firm grip on her character. A grip that she has perfected by years of playing bold, beautiful and charming characters throughout her career.

Hey Jude is Nivin’s canvas. He has gained a huge amount of body weight to play the character and strikes home with the performance of an unconfident, introvert person with serious socialising problems.

In parts, Shyamaprasad has overstretched the narration even as there was not enough material to support him. A crisp editing may have helped this film become more engaging.

Mersal Vijay's Tamil Movie :Madras High court vacates stay on use of ‘Mersal’ as title for Vijay's film

The interim injunction was granted till October 3 on a civil suit preferred by A. Rajendran of Film Factori.

The Madras High Court on Friday vacated the order of interim injunction granted by it on September 22 restraining Thenandal Studios from using the title, Mersal , for actor Vijay's upcoming movie.

Justice Anita Sumanth vacated her interim order after agreeing with the production house that there was no illegality in using the title as alleged by A. Rajendran of Film Factori, another production house.

Mr. Rajendran had contended to have registered a similar title, Merrasalaitan, as well as Naan Merrasalaitan, with the Tamil Film Producers Council in 2015. He also claimed to have been renewing the registration every year after the payment of necessary charges.

In his affidavit, Mr. Rajendran said that he had selected the title, Merrasalaitan, in 2015 for launching his son as a hero in the film industry.

Remo to release in Telugu on November 25, gets U certificate

Siva Karthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh’s Tamil outing Remo is gearing up for a release in Telugu on November 25. The film cleared its censor hurdles and received a U certificate from the board.

Sivakarthikeyan enjoys good fan following among children and family audience and a ‘U’ certificate is also important for his film from the business standpoint. TV anchor-turned-film actor, Sivakarthikeyan will be seen in one of a kind role in this upcoming romantic comedy. The movie features Sivakarthikeyan dressed in drag. He has disguised himself as a drool-worthy nurse.

Upcoming actor Keerthy Suresh, who is on a roll in the South Indian film industry, will be seen romancing Sivakarthikeyan onscreen for the first time. She was last seen in recently released Thodari, starring Dhanush and also in Tollywood flicks opposite Ram in Nenu Sailaja. She will also be pairing with Nani in Nenu Local.

Top producer Dil Raju is releasing the film in Telugu. Remo is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and has music from young heartthrob Anirudh Ravichander, which is also his fourth collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan

The Tamil version released on October 7 and did decent business at the Tamil box office. After reportedly garnering Rs 8 crore on its opening day, the film has outdone itself in its theatrical box office collection on Saturday and Sunday of the releasing week. Not just in Tamil Nadu, the film is also doing well overseas. The film, which marked the widest opening for Siva in the US, where it released in over 70 screens, holds the second position among Indian films after Telugu movie, Premam.

Keerthy Suresh to act in Pawan Kalayan, Trivikram’s next project

The south princess who is on a roll with big-ticket stars is teaming up with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and director Trivikram Srinivas for her next Tollywood flick. She was elated to share the news on social media.

      

“Very happy to announce my next Telugu film with Pawan Kalyan sir Pawanism, Director Trivikram Srinivas sir, Production Haarika & Hassine Creations, Anirudh Ravichander,” Keerthy Suresh posted. Under Trivikram’s direction, the movie will be bankrolled by Harrika and Hassine Creations. The music for the film will be scored by Anirudh Ravichander.

Keerthy Suresh has already proved her mettle in Tamil industry and has starred opposite stars such as Vijay Ilaythalapathi and Dhanush. In Tollywood, she made her debut with Ram in Nenu Sailaja and is already shooting her next, Nenu Local, with Nani. Her name was also on the cards for Mahesh Babu’s next film.

Sources close to film unit had revealed that the movie would cast two females leads. The other actor to star in the film is not yet confirmed. Reports also suggested that Devdude Digi Vachina had been registered as the film’s title with the Film Chamber and its regular shoot will start later this month.

Trivikram and Pawan have earlier delivered blockbusters like Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi. In both the movies, there were two heroines who were paired opposite Pawan. While Ileana D’Cruz and Parvathi Melton acted in Jalsa, Samantha and Pranitha Subhash were cast in Attarintiki Daredi.

Pawan is already busy with Dolly’s Katamarayudu, which is a Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster Veeram. The movie will feature Pawan Kalyan as a faction leader. Simultaneously, he also booked a slot for another Tamil remake of Vedalam under R T Neason for which the shooting will begin next year.
